Putnam approves paying employees for unused vacation time By Cheryl incher The Macon Telegraph During a closed meeting Tuesday Putnam County commissioners agreed to pay about 50 Sheriffs Department employees for unused vacation time a practice tliat apjiarently has been going on informally for 18 years The decision comes with a price tag of $23 (XX) over the department's 1993 budget The employees were paid Wednesday froht the county's contingency fund County Manager rank Brantley said Brantley stiid the matter will be handled tlirough a budget adjustment to be voted on by the full
