Miss Clara Wilson Miss Clara Harriett Wiison, 77, lifelong resident of Doraville, died Sunday at the residence her sister, Miss Sallie Wilson, of 195 Hunnicutt N. after a long illness.

Funeral arrangements will be annuonced by Henry M. Blanchard Son. Born in DeKalb County, Miss Wilson was a member of the Doraville Presbyterian Church. Surviving are other sisters, Mrs. Laura E.

Samuel E. Wilkes, Sr. Funeral services for Samuel E. Wilkes, 75, who died Saturday at the residence, 517 Thompson East Point, were held at 4 p. m.

Sunday at the East Point First Methodist Church. The Rev. Hoke Sewell officiated. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Born in Columbia, Mr.

Wilkes attended schools there. He had been associated with the Central Georgia Railroad for 29. years before retiring in 1946. He was formerly associated with the Railroad in Birmingham for 22 years. A member of the First Methodist Church of East Point, he had been a resident of the Atlanta area since 1917.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, local 302. Surviving are his wife, the former Carrie Elizabeth Gaines of Prattville, five sons, W. Wilkes, of College Park; E. C. of East Point: J.

W. Wilkes, of Macon; S. E. Wilkes of Atlanta; Sgt. G.

B. Wilkes, U.S.M.C. in Korea; and 13 grandchildren. Lucius E. Wheeler S.

Wheeler, died 78, of Sunday 878 afternoon in a private hospital after a short illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Awtry Lowndes. A native of Warren County, Mr. Wheeler attended schools in Warrenton. A member of the Park Ave.

Methodist Church, he was a retired groceryman. He was also member of the Pioneer Bible Glass of his church. Mr. Wheeler had resided in Atlanta for 60 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Jennie Cloud of Campbell County; two daughters, Mrs.

E. B. Lanier, Mrs. D. Hall, both of Atlanta; two brothers, Charlie G.

Wheeler, W. T. Wheeler, both of Atlanta; three sisters, Mrs. Scruggs, of Macon; Miss Eunice Wheeler, Miss Mary Wheeler, both of. Atlanta: two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Carolyn Ward Mrs. Carolyn Gertrude Ward of Richmond, former Atlantan and mother of John W. Ward, of 220 Wellington S. died Sunday in Richmond after a long illness.

Vidalia. Lula Pearl Pike, '65, Montezuma." James Lamar Henderson, Hampton. Millionaire Fruit Man, Sicilian, Dies DI GIORGIO, Feb. 25-- (AP)-Joseph Di Giorgio, Sicilian immigrant who built a multimillion-dollar fruit empire from a banana peddling route, died Sunday of a heart ailment. He was 76.

Despite his age, he was active the last in the direction of his international fruit and vegetable growing and shipping concern. The Di Giorgio Fruit Corp. operated more than 20,000 acres of rich farm lands in California and Florida, and had extensive interests in Mexico and South America. Di Giorgio immigrated to Baltimore from Sicily at the age of 14 and began selling bananas. Within a few years he began operating a fruit exchange there which is still owned by the corporation.

Forty vears ago Giorgio came to California. He bought a fruit brokerage firm at Bakersfield and aided in the development of the San Joaquin valley as a wine and grape center. At the time of his death Di Giorgio was chairman of the board of the Di Giorgio Fruit Corp. A nephew, Philip Di Giorgio, is president. Infant's Body Found in Yard The body of a newly-born Negro baby was found in backyard of a house at 642 Beckwith N.

police said. Neighbors told detectives infant had been placed in the yard sometime during the night. One neighbor said he had worked near the spot where the baby was found until after dark Saturday, and he knew it was not there then. A wad of toilet tissue was stuffed in the baby's mouth. Detectives said the baby was not born in a hospital nor was the birth attended by a physician.

m. Tuesday in Danville, Ill. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, therewas born in Stuttgart, Germany. She came to America at the age of 15. The former Rose Buerkle, she was a long-time resident of Danville and was a member of the Bowman Methodist Church there.

She returned to Germany, with Mueller, her on late their husband, honeymoon in 1882. They observed 56 wedding anniversaries before her husband died 15 years ago. She had lived in Atlanta five years. Surviving are four sons, Julius Mueller, of Ramsey, Harry R. Mueller.

25-Orla New York Gov. Dewey's Father died of a heart attack early Sunday morning in the executive mansion, where he and his wife had been staying for the last two months. He was 75 years old. Mr. and Mrs.

Hutt came to Albany to spend the Christmas holidays with the Deweys. Subsequent recurrence of attacks of asthma and arteriosclerosis which Hutt had suffered for several years forced them to remain. Funeral plans have not been completed, but burial will take place in the Hutt family plot in Sherman, Texas, the town where Mr. and Mrs. Hutt lived for many years and Mrs.

Dewey was born. Hutt was a railroad man, working. for the St. Louis and San Francisco lines until his retirement several years ago. He and his wife made their home in Sapulpa, for the last 35 years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Audie Lee Davis Hutt; his daughter. Mrs. Frances Hutt Dewey; his son, Dr. Harold D.

2 Are Killed In Georgia Road Traffic A motorcycle-riding Kentuckian Sunday suffered a broken leg when his machine was involved in a collision near Jonesboro, in Georgia weekend highway trafafter two lives had been claimed 1 fic accidents. No one else was injured in the crash and no charges were made, police said.
