Which top defenders in Middle Georgia recently made their college commitments?

Prep Redzone has the details…

Isaiah Gibson Isaiah Gibson 6'5" | 250 lbs | DL Warner Robins | 2025 State GA – EDGE – Warner Robins

Ranked as the No. 7 overall prospect in Georgia by Prep Redzone, Gibson is an elite defender with an incredibly lengthy 6-foot-4 260-pound frame who recently de-committed from the Southern California Trojans. Now, this dominant Warner Robins defensive end will be staying in the Peach State, making a commitment to Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. Gibson is a dependable run defender, but his length, motor, and ability to rush the quarterback makes him one of the nation’s best at his position. He’s coming off a strong junior season for the Demons where he made 42 tackles, 12 TFLs, six sacks and 24 QB hurries.

Kevin Wynn Kevin Wynn 6'4" | 320 lbs | DL Greene County | 2025 State GA – DL – Greene County

One of the top interior defensive linemen not only in Georgia, but across the South in the 2025 class, Wynn is coming off a completely dominant junior season for Greene County where he lived in the backfield and made drive-killing stops on a weekly basis. A giant lineman with a strong 6-foot-3 320-pound frame, Wynn made an eye-opening 70 tackles and an incredible 30 TFLs. Wynn had a long offer list and was a big target for some of the best programs in college football, but over the weekend he made the decision to commit to the ACC Champion Florida State Seminoles. The state is loaded with talented defensive linemen in the 2025 class, and Wynn showed last year he’s one of the best. He’s currently ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 20 overall prospect in the state.

Chase Taylor Chase Taylor 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Stockbridge | 2025 State GA – Stockbridge

A tough, instinctual linebacker with a promising 6-foot-3 215-pound frame, Taylor is a playmaking defender south of Atlanta who was one of the more productive linebackers in the area last fall as a junior, making 76 tackles, six TFLs and six sacks. Taylor plays with aggression and flashed natural instincts against the run. A sure tackler, Taylor strikes when he hits with the ability to make plays in coverage as well. He sniffs out runs early and is physical enough to clog running lanes between the tackles. He held a number of major offers, but in the end, Taylor made a big commitment to play for the Michigan Wolverines. Not only is Taylor a hard-working and productive defender, but he’s also a smart young man who should have no problem grasping the playbook early on in Ann Arbor. He’s a big-time player and should see a rankings boost in the next 2025 rankings update.

Jordan Donald – Perry

Another stout, dependable Middle Georgia linebacker with plenty of size and instincts, Donald has a true nose for the football and lit up the stat sheet last year, making 123 tackles, seven TFLs, three sacks, two INTs, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He was a consistent defender every week who did his job and always found his way to the ball-carrier. The 6-foot-2 190-pounder also helped lead his Perry team to the 4A state title last year. A 1st-team all-region selection last year, Donald brings an excellent blend of physicality, playmaking ability, and fundamentals, showing he’s a consistent linebacker who can make a sure tackle in the open field. He held an impressive offer list, and this weekend he made his verbal commitment to Western Kentucky, choosing the Hilltoppers over South Florida, Georgia State, among others.
