Gulf Coast Medical Center Lee Mem Health System: "I waited 5 1/2 hours and walked out, average time lastnight was 7 hrs. this is not acceptable and your refusing to give people estimated time is a bad policy. had they been honest with me I could've choose to drive to another er. I understand the triage process and understand I wasn't the same priority as a heart attack. But had I known the insane wait time I could of choose to go elsewhere. Very unprofessional and will tell every person I know to not go here" - Ron

Gulf Coast Medical Center Lee Mem Health System: "Last fall I was sent to hospital from my dr’s office. I waited 8 hours and finally went home. I have several autoimmune diseases including Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. Last night I called 911 as it felt as if I was having some sort of liver attack. Arrived at Health Park in hopes of not having a long wait. I was asked a few questions and put in the lobby. Told my husband I would rather die at home than to have this much anxiety sitting here waiting. Lee Health systems is failing our community. I’ve lived here 50+ years and it’s turned to a 3rd world country. It’s incredible the wait times they have listed here. Those were wait times before covid! I may have to move for health care. Sadly. Gulf Coast Medical Center Lee Mem Health System: "We went there late afternoon today , to a packed waiting room . As soon as we mentioned that he had HAD a fever this am , they wanted to put him in an area with covid symptom patients/ and separate me from him . We told her / the check in / rude girl/ that we didn’t have covid and had been tested a few hours earlier. She never took his temperature or asked about any of his other symptoms. We went there to rule out appendicitis!!! He has colitis to begin with, and we can’t compromise his immune system anymore. WE LEFT. If he gets worse , we will be going in the back of an ambulance, so they won’t ignore us. And god forbid , if his appendix ruptures, I will Sue !!!!!!" - Dawn
